Deere Enthusiasts Get Ready for Gathering of the Green
Hundreds of John Deere enthusiasts and collectors will head for the Holiday Inn Moline Airport on March 12-15 for the biannual "Gathering of the Green." This year's theme, "Preserving the Past," will include agricultural-related items from the past that will evoke memories and information on the history and evolution of agriculture. The 2008 conference will include over 40 technical and historical workshops, 60 vendors, John Deere factory tours in the Quad Cities, over-the-road bus trips to Sindt Implement in Keystone, Iowa; the McKinley Implement Museum in Quincy; the John Deere Historic Site at Grand Detour; The National Farm Toy Museum in Dyersville, Iowa. The "Gathering of the Green" is open to the general public, but pre-registration is required by Feb. 15. Conference registration fee is $25 per person. Fees vary for optional activities, including a closing banquet at $25 per person and over-the-road trips and tours.
