AGCO: The Evolution of a Company.

The National Farm Toy Museum presents the all-new manufacturers showcase “AGCO: The Evolution of a Company.”

Featuring detailed miniatures of the historical brands that created one of today’s top agricultural manufactures

Dyersville, IA, August 30, 2011:  The National Farm Toy Museum’s newest display, AGCO: The Evolution of A Company, highlights the historical brands of the AGCO Company from early machines of the past to today’s latest and greatest – all in detailed miniature.  Made possible with a grant from Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area, AGCO: The Evolution replaces the Farmall: First in the Field display in the National Farm Toy Museum’s Leland R. Nebel Manufacturers Showcase.

“This new display is a unique and colorful illustration of the innovation and remarkable transformation of the agricultural tractor and implements from its very beginnings,” said Dave Bell, Museum Advisory Board President, and President of SpecCast, “as farming changed so evolved the equipment into what is used today.”

One feature of the display not to be missed is the Allis-Chalmers All-Crop Combine Factory diorama. Handcrafted by Ev and Myra Weber, in fascinating detail, this diorama depicts the creation of the popular AC All-Crop Harvester.  Taking over an estimated 4,000 hours to create, this diorama preserves the rich history of what is now AGCO.

Among the many colorful brands included in the display are, Allis-Chalmers, Cockshutt, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline, White, Challenger, Massey Ferguson, and of course AGCO.  Also on display; a full scale Allis-Chalmers “G”, company timeline along with a multitude of fascinating agricultural collectibles on display.

At the National Farm Toy Museum fun-loving farm enthusiasts may peruse the museum's frenzy of farm related implements scattered throughout its two-floored exhibition space.  Retrace and retread tractor history with the Museum’s collection of miniature farm replicas that convey anecdotes of American agriculture. The National Farm Toy Museum is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
